Jon Corbin

Sept 2009
One of my favorite memories was when Dave Wood and I drove down the West Coast on Rt. 1, rolling out our sleeping bags in Big Sur, where the police raided our campsite in the middle of the night because they thought we were druggies, and then in Tijuana, where a local posse threatened to cut off our hair. That was 1969.
All this ended happily in 1973 when I married Diana Ianelli (of Hopewell Jct.). We have been together ever since, raising kids and teaching kids. Our son Jonathan is a legal assistant, and daughter Cristina a T.V. reporter. We own a merry cocker, Beau, who just celebrated his 16th birthday.
I retired from the Nyack Public Schools in 2006, after 37 years of teaching English and coaching tennis, including drama. Soon after, I joined my wife at LaGuardia H.S. for Music and Art & Performing Arts (NYC). Besides teaching English, Diana and I enjoy taking part in student Shakespeare festivals and competitions.
Having gone to only one other class reunion, which was a long time ago, I am really looking forward to our 50th celebration and seeing my old classmates.
